The session will include the following:

• Research on the impact of disrupting the traditional education system relationship with families to improve student outcomes

• An opportunity for participants to reflect on and discuss in small groups what they already know about the families they serve, how they know it, and what do they want to learn from their families.

• Exploring the philosophical shift required to move from traditional family involvement to elevating the stories and truth of families and becoming partners

• An opportunity for participants to reflect on how their organization involves/ engages/partners with clients and families

• Key components found to be important in redesigning the system to elevate the stories and truth of families and becoming partners

• Understand how Roseville Area Schools is working to disrupt the system from a policy, management, and frontline perspective (this is a journey and by no means complete). Effective strategies will be highlighted, as well as enhancements learned during the pandemic.

• Additional tools and considerations in working with multilingual families

• An opportunity for participants to reflect on and discuss in small groups how they can work in their organization to elevate the narratives and truth of their families and co-create partnerships for success
