Storytelling and poetry will be used to tap into the beauty of culture and the potentially painful relationships trauma can create. Participants will observe Dr. Vang lead with her story and hear poems that has helped her navigate the world as a Hmong refugee woman. In this workshop, participants will be asked to write their own poems about their ethnic or racial history to decenter whiteness and to shift the focus onto them. Time will be created for participants to share their poems.
