Kate Laursen leads communications efforts for OneVillage Partners, an organization specializing in community-led development in Eastern Sierra Leone. A communications expert with 7+ years’ experience, Kate is passionate about using strategic and ethical communications to promote grassroots and community-oriented solutions. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Colorado and a Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies. Having served in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, Kate has seen the best and worst of aid and development. She is therefore committed to understanding how the intersection of anti-racism, de-colonization, and language can shift the current paradigm of aid and development to be one that is rooted in justice and equity.
