Kenny Newby is in his seventh year as principal of Forest Lake Elementary in Forest Lake, MN and his twentieth year working in public schools as a teacher; dean of students; and principal in Minnesota and Colorado. He is the current Minnesota State Representative for the National Association of Elementary School Principals. During his career he has had the opportunity to serve on and lead school and district teams’ work that supports the successful implementation of strategic plan goals to identify and transform systems that contribute to inequities. Newby is committed to making schools a place where all students feel safe, welcomed and valued for being their true selves.
