Speaker Bio
Tyanna Gross (she/her) is a mother, artist, teacher, facilitator, and equity consultant who focuses on social justice, Blackbox style theatre, and health and wellness/healing from trauma work. Tyanna began her work in social justice in 2006 after her father was shot and killed by police in Birmingham Alabama. She studied Theatre Arts Education at Hamline University where she learned the true power of her voice. For the past year she has been a theatre arts teacher for Minneapolis Public Schools, guiding students into their journey of understanding race, equity, inclusion and so much more. Tyanna hopes to inspire people of all ages to make change through theatre and art. She is currently working with Suburban Ramsey on a healing arts project to promote healing work through art. She seeks to cultivate safe space through storytelling, spoken word, and breathwork. Tyanna is a strong advocate for the development of youth leadership and is currently pursuing her Masters at the University of Minnesota.
