Kayla Perry (she/her), Ginew Gabii Noondogozit Ikwe (Eagle Calling Woman), is a member of Rolling River First Nation (Treaty 4) and a proud mother of three, wife, daughter, granddaughter, and aunt. She is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator dedicated to serving First Nations Peoples to support them in reclaiming their cultural identity through food at the grassroots community level for the past 7 years. As the Diabetes Integration Project Dietitian at First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba (FNHSSM), Kayla fosters connections with those living with type 2 diabetes to help them manage the disease in 19 First Nations across Manitoba. With her experience working in First Nations health, Kayla is leading the change in the dietetic profession as a facilitator in the anti-Indigenous racism work within FNHSSM. In her free time, Kayla enjoys watching movies, spending time outdoors, and being with her family and pets.
