Christy Spencer (she/her) revels in playing with possibility. In her practice, Christy relishes opportunities to cultivate compassionate communities, foster intercultural competence, explore anti-racsit theory & practices in early childhood contexts, and engage design thinking for systems change. Christy is inspired by children’s curiosities and perspectives thus she roots her practice in relationships, deep listening, designing dynamic learning environments as well as observation and pedagogical documentation – a process that has the power to bring visibility to children’s thinking and learning. Christy’s career, focused on education, spans the classroom, community-focused programs and organizational leadership in like-minded groups and nonprofits. Current professional interests also include exploring the intersection of design thinking and the Educational Project of Reggio Emilia, mindfulness and neuroscience focused on empathy.
