Whitney Terrill is the Environmental Justice Program Manager at MNIPL where she designs, coordinates, and facilitates community-based programming and partnerships for MNIPL and individual faith communities.
Whitney brings her training as a sociologist and her professional experience In both public and private sectors. Her work on greening the built environment in Washington, DC, and volunteer experience to promote access to organic food and farming in Minnesota are especially relevant to her role at Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light. She is deeply committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion for all people. Influenced by childhood experiences at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and her own spiritual path, Whitney hopes to advocate and collaborate with communities to achieve inclusion of all people in the environmental justice movement in Minnesota.
Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, she received her undergraduate degree from Hampton University (VA) and an executive certificate in conversation and environmental sustainability from Columbia University (NY).
Whitney was a GreenFaith Fellow in the 2021 Class of 60 people. GreenFaith's Fellowship Program is the only international comprehensive education and training program to prepare religious leaders from diverse religious traditions for climate and environmental leadership.
Whitney worships frequently at Al Amaan Center in Minnetonka, MN.
