Description

Reflecting on the progress (slowly but surely) we have made in recognizing the institutional flaws of systems like the educational and criminal justice systems is important. Being able to reflect on what still needs to be done to ensure BIPOC communities have equitable access and opportunities within these systems and beyond is an important first step. Understanding these histories and the disproportionalities of BIPOC experience is how we can start to heal the traumas of the past, creating a more just and equal future for all. This session will discuss the historical context of Restorative Justice, what Restorative Justice is, and how can we use restorative justice to repair harm.
