Description

The impact of racism, colorism and other forms of discrimination experienced by Black girls, teens and young women have and continue to serve as obstacles impacting their overall success and rise to higher ground. When issues of this nature are at play, they harm the psychological, emotional, physical, and social wellbeing of Black girls, teens and young women, resulting in them becoming trapped in psychic prisons that defer dreams, diminish hopes, and stagnate the journey to higher ground and success. Absent support, resources, mentoring, initiatives, programs, representation, advocacy, and the development of life-long learning skills, Black girls, teens, and young women will continue to be categorized by negative statistics that continue to ignore their voices, visibility, unique challenges, and needs. To level the playing field, the remedies must be equity minded and address injustices, racism, colorism, educational gaps, success strategies and prepare Black girls, teens, and young women to reach higher ground while creating generational wealth and wealth mindsets. Participants will be engaged via questions and answers, sharing stories, and creating a "Life Blue Print."
