Culture is pervasive, it is in who we are and what we do. We must reimagine and experience self and community care as a natural response to and responsibility within our cultures. This session examines BIPOC-centered, collective leadership in layered cultural contexts, at the individual, organizational and community levels. This offers a basis for practicing restorative and transformative justice in our daily lives and community-building work. Presenters share their experiences centering BIPOC communities and unpack the components needed to build a culture of collective care. Learning is facilitated by reflection between presenters and participants; our goal is to support participants in identifying and strengthening practices that exemplify solidarity, honor our lived experiences and personal journeys navigating rest and work, and supporting each other toward individual and collective liberation.
