Speaker Bio
Regina M. Brown spent more than 20 years as a Vice President in the corporate sector where she successfully led and managed various problem-resolution oriented departments in strategy execution, technology, business process and improvement, quality, and portfolio management. More than Organizational Development, as CEO of Open to Grow, LLC she understands that systems include people, processes, and communication. Her approach encompasses a creative systems-methodology to resolve a wide range of interpersonal and organizational issues. She is currently completing her doctorate in Leadership with interconnected concentration on Social Justice, Liberation, Education, Human Inclusion, Meta-Communication, and Personal Growth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Communication, and a Master’s degree in Leadership. She considers herself an "Eye-opener" as she incorporates the historical, physiological, neurological, ideological, sociological, and communicative assumptions that serve to blind us and hinder our ability to grow and interact as rational human beings. These human-to-human interactions are necessary for healthy individuals, families, communities, organizations, and societies. She is a certified Strengths Deployment Facilitator. She also teaches, consults in corporate and non-profit sectors, writes, previously hosted a community radio show Open to Grow on KRSM 98.9 FM, and speaks on various related topics.

Her published works include: Individuals in a Forced Collective: Mentoring as an Opportunity to Create Space (2015); Philando, et al. (2016); Where Am I? (2016); The Awakening (2017); 55 Years Ago: Reflections on The Letter from a Birmingham Jail (Feb 2018).

Recent conference topics include The Dance of Be-ing; The Benefits of Self-Archelogy; What are Men’s Issues?; and The Principles of Managing Your R.E.P.

Workshops developed and facilitated include Increasing Racial Acuity; Empowering a Racialized Self; and Infrastructure, Functioning, Capacity, and Culture: Leadership Development for the 21st Century.
