Pete has held leadership responsibilities for the Center for Victims of Torture’s external relations programs (fund development, communications and policy advocacy) since 1993. He has deep experience in all aspects of individual and institutional philanthropy; he has also managed successful legislative initiatives on state and federal levels. In addition to his work at CVT, Dross has served as a board member for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and MAP for Nonprofits. He currently serves on the board of directors, executive committee and as treasurer of the National Consortium of Torture Treatment Programs. Pete has a background in community organizing, having served as an organizer with the Anoka People’s Alliance for Change, where he engaged in issue and legislative advocacy on issues that included housing, health care access, utility costs and other issues affecting the organization’s multi-racial membership base of low and moderate income people.
