Isis Buchanan, has been an educator for 24 years. She has experience working as a classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, and school administrator. She is currently the principal at Gideon Pond Elementary School in Burnsville, Minnesota. Ms. Buchanan leads with a focus on equity and student academic success. She prides herself in being a lifelong learner, teacher, and equity advocate who works to inspire teachers to value all students and hold high expectations. Ms. Buchanan is a Milken Family Foundation National Educator (Minnesota, 2006) and she puts students first in her work as a leader.
