The YWCA’s national mission is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. This feminist mission and the nature of how we operate as a local partner speaks directly to the inclusion of all people. YWCA USA is a collective body of local organizations seeking to increase equal protections and opportunities for women and people of color. We strive to increase economic opportunities for women and girls of color, recognizing how important it is to address current and historical race and gender inequities for these populations. YWCA Duluth strives to improve disparities and negative outcomes for women and people of color in the areas of health, safety, and education. By including the voices of all YWCAs, we are collectively confronting these social justice issues while catering to the specific needs of our communities, making lasting and impactful change throughout the nation.
