Hello,
My name is Adam Savariego, I am from Pezihutazizi Kapi Oyate (Yellow Medicine People), also known as the Upper Sioux Community. I serve as Tribal Secretary, one of five people on the Board of Trustees, our governing body for the Upper Sioux Community. I am in my 4th year of a 4-year term for the elected position. Aside from my day-to-day professional role, I teach Indigenous Studies with a focus on Dakota history in Minnesota, part-time for the local community college. My educational background includes a B.A. in History from Southwest Minnesota State University and a M.Ed in Youth Development Leadership from the University of Minnesota. I’ve been passionate about understanding historical circumstance of the Upper Sioux Community as well as, working with young people from my community.
