Jessica Ellison is a teacher educator at the Minnesota Historical Society. For the last 18 years, she has created teaching materials and delivered professional development for hundreds of K-12 social studies teachers, in Minnesota and around the country. Jessica served as President of the Minnesota Council for the Social Studies from 2015-2021, and currently serves on the board of the National Social Studies Supervisors Association. She is grant director for MNHS’s Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources project, “Inquiry in the Upper Midwest,” which focuses on culturally relevant pedagogy and primary sources. Jessica is an elected member of her local school board, and lives in White Bear Lake with her husband and their four children, ages 15, 12, 11 and 9.
