As school systems contend with removing School Resource Officers - police in schools - from learning environments, educators (particularly White educators) must imagine an explicitly anti-racist approach to school safety. After all, discipline regimes without police also reinforce racist systems. This workshop will consider the research on SROs before calling on participants to imagine school safety systems that move school closer to missions of racial justice.
