Upon South Asians' arrival, especially after 2001, they faced xenophobia, hate crimes, and state surveillance rooted in and justified by Islamophobia. Overcoming racism requires that "We the People" includes all people on American soil, including asylum seekers and refugees, people of all faith backgrounds, and access to healing & care.
