Speaker Bio
Shivani Parikh (she/her/hers) is the Vice President of University Chapters at MannMukti. She is an alumna of Cornell University, where she studied Development Sociology and completed minors in Asian American Studies and South Asian Studies. Outside of her volunteer role at MannMukti, she works as the Outreach Coordinator to Asian Communities at the Center for Safety and Change, is a member of the Emerging Leaders Council of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP), is a founding member of Cornell Asian Alumni Association’s South Asian Alumni Outreach and Engagement Committee, and is the News and Politics Editor of Hyphen Magazine. She has presented at the East Coast Asian American Student Union’s 2018 annual conference, the 2019 Asian American Studies Summit at the University of Pennsylvania, the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum’s 2019 annual conference in Washington, D.C., and was most recently a panelist at Yale University's 2020 South Asian Solidarity Initiative conference. She is the daughter of Gujarati Indian immigrants.
