Eddie Blaylark began his career in social work and after obtaining his Masters in Social Work and working in that field, he began to transition to education and earned his Masters in Education when it was clear that there is a direct correlation and crossover between the two fields. Mr. Blaylark’s education career includes over 20 years of experience including a classroom teacher and alternative school director in Denver, Colorado and most recently as an associate principal at Nicollet Middle School in Burnsville, Minnesota. Mr. Blaylark has proven results transforming systems. In his first year at the middle school level, he reduced the out of school suspension rate by 68% and led professional development sessions in effective communication with staff through an equity lens. Mr. Blaylark is a leader that promotes an equity mindset through result oriented practice that supports student and teacher growth in an environment conducive to changing culture.
